CARNIVAL

Carnival is an annual celebration.  We celebrate the  carnival for three days that are before Ash Wednesday and Lent.The carnival has existed for over 2,000 years, evolving over time.

 RIO DE JANEIRO

We've all heard about the carnival of Rio de Janeiro. Carnival of Rio de Janero is one of the best known and a very attractive festival is a world famous. Carnival of Rio de Janero is considered the biggest carnival in the world with wo million people per day on te streets. The first festivals of Rio date back to 1723

VENEZIA

Carnival of venezia, original and attractive all wear masks during a parade. 

Before masks were used only for religious festivals such as "Corpus Christi." Costumes and  masks show us how good battles evil.This was the idea of the pope " URBAN IV". 

Despite that Carnival is not a religious holiday over time was wearing masks so the carnival venezia became a real masquerade.

Carnival is celebrated in every one of our country and city in different way. we know most of them and how the celebration is, therefore I have some facts that have ocurred during "CARNIVAL".

FACTS

•  In these nearly seven weeks, in medieval Europe, fasting was rigorous, as the Church urged to eat only vegetables and fish, came the word carnival, the Genoese carnevalare, meaning "to remove meat".
•  Carnival is the party of four continents, as Asia is the exception.
•  In Panama, besides worshiping Momo, perform the "Burial of the Sardine" and the celebration of Las Tablas, southwest of the country, where the people are divided into two groups organized "road up" and "down the road" to compete with music, costumes, floats and queens.
• In certain places so much debauchery during Carnival, which the chronicles are creepy. For example, Carnival 2004 leaving a balance of 121 dead in Brazil, 61 in Ecuador, 36 in Venezuela, 30 in Bolivia, 20 in Panama ...
• At the time of the New Nation, in Chile, was banned this celebration.
• In Cologne and Munich, among other German cities are made carnival celebrations, with parades and balls decorated, in the south called Fasching
• In the Netherlands, in the southern Catholic provinces like North Brabant and Limburg, also celebrated the carnival.   
• In Spain, there are different ways to celebrate the carnival, by region. In Valencia, in the town of Villar del Archbishop, is made one of the most popular carnivals characteristic, for in it is carried out the burial of the "Morea" (blood sausage), as a symbol of one of the meanings of Christians carnival party as to be able to eat meat.

   

   The carnival exists because there Lent and Easter. It originated in Christianity. While the background were the pagan festivals like Saturnalia and Bacchanalia, born as Carnival in the period before Ash Wednesday. It should also be noted that in the current celebrations, dramatic, sometimes is invading the Lenten period.
