Carnival - Alegría Rosales

En Ecuador we usually celebrate Carnival the second week of every February.  In our country we can find different ways of celebrating the Carnival. In Ambato for example, you can find parades with lots of flowers and fruits. Those are not as big as Rio´s carnival, but still they are pretty cool. In Ambato you can also find bull fight´s. this bull fights are kind of replacing Quito´s fair. Since the killing of bulls were forbidden in Quito, almost every bull fighter that came to Quito is now going to Ambato. They also have food and clothes fairs. It´s great to go to Ambato in Carnival, but you can also visit other places in Ecuador. If you really like playing with water or carnival foam or even flour or eggs, you should visit Guaranda. Guaranda, the capital of Bolivar, is known around the country as the best city to play carnival. So if you are walking on a Guaranda´s street on carnival, you would totally get wet, if you’re lucky. If not the most probable thing is that you would get thrown lots of eggs flour and even paint. That´s right, paint! It´s kind of funny going to Guaranda because people there don´t care if you are old, young, man or woman, they don´t even care if you are sick or pregnant, they would wet you no matter what. They play really hard there, so if you want to play with water, Guaranda is the place.

One of the most typical places where people like to go is the beach. The Ecuadorian beaches are really beautiful. Even though if you go on carnival you´ll find lots of people, especially in Esmeraldas. I really prefer Manabi´s beaches, like Crucita. Crucita is really small but beautiful. It´s very clean and people there are really kind. In carnival you can find surf contests and night parties on the beach. It´s great for families and for young people who like to party on the beach. They also have some parades where people can see surfers showing their surfboards. It´s pretty cool to go in this time of the year because it´s really hot and you can enjoy the beach a lot.

In conclusion Carnival in Ecuador is awesome! You can find relaxing activities to do or having fun in lots of places to. You don´t need to go to Ambato or Guaranda or Crucita to have fun, in every city you can always find great things to do. I love the diversity that you can find in such a small country, you can find almost everything in a very small place.
